Charles Curto is founder and Managing Principal of Tech Coast Equity Group. TCEG is an investment banking boutique which focuses on acquisitions, strategic alliances, financing, valuations and exit planning for middle market and high potential early stage businesses.
A seasoned mergers and acquisitions professional who has structured and executed a variety of transactions in the U.S. and overseas, Charles has also held senior positions with three other Southern California M&A advisories. Prior to that, he spent more than twenty years in acquisitions and corporate finance, including serving as Director of Planning and Development for The Santa Cruz Operation, Manager of Business Development for Rockwell International, and Assistant Treasurer—International Finance for TRW.
Charles received his B.S. in Mathematics from Boston College and his M.B.A. in Finance from Columbia University. He completed the Mergers and Acquisitions Program at Northwestern University as well as the Strategic Marketing and Manufacturing Strategy programs offered by Harvard Business School.
Charles served on the board of directors of the Technology Council of Southern California and co-chaired its Orange County Funding and M&A Society. He has served on the boards of several technology companies as well as on the board of the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs, for which he was Finance Committee Chair. As president of the Fairmont Montessori Association, he led the campaign to raise funds and build a middle school. He has been the Assistant Scoutmaster for high adventure activities with Boy Scout Troop 652. In his not so copious spare time, Charles has been a hiking docent for The Nature Conservancy at the Laguna Coast Wilderness Park. He is an avid hiker and outdoors photographer.
